Good news from the WSPA:
A unique on-the-spot test for bear proteins has been
developed by WSPA in conjunction with a specialist
UK wildlife forensics organisation. This test is used to
detect products that contain bear bile and other bear
parts.
In 2008 the test helped the Australian Customs
Service (ACS) seize over 60 products that contained
bear bile, stopping them from
entering Australia.
The bear product detection kits work in a similar way
to a home pregnancy test, giving results in minutes.
This enables quick and easy confirmation of products
that contain bear bile which fuel this cruel and illegal
trade.
